my friend is using jaws 5, and we installed google talk yesterday on his computer. Most of everything seems to be ok as far as him being able to use it, until we discovered that he could not read the messages I had been sending him. All it says is "graphic 118 graphic 430 etc", I'm not sure exactly but figuratively speaking. So I am trying to figure out why is this not working? We tried changing the chat theme, and the settings in the google talk client, but I am beginning to wonder if his version of jaws may not be compatible. I used to use jaws 7 and it worked just fine! Any help would be appreciated thanks!
Erm if he's only using jaws 5, I'd not be shocked at all to find that it wouldn't work.
Well, earlier I found some jaws scripts for google talk, and they are for jaws 6. Do you think that might work, or does it really have to be for jaws 6? Is 6 much different than 5? Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated! :)
Wow Ash, it's strongly recommended he update his Jaws! A lot of programs don't work with earlier versions of Jaws. That's my best guess anyway.
yeah, you're really not going to find much that works with jaws 5 anymore. if your friend can, he should update asap.
Agree with everyone else here. He can get demos of of later JAWS versions, talk to Rehab and see if they can help him get JAWS, or save up for a better version.
Ok, thanks
agreed, my best bet is to update jaws to a later version.
